BANCOI OFFICIATES ITS ANNUAL BALANCE ASSEMBLY 2016

The Balance Assembly Bancoi 2016 was held in a timely, critical and participatory manner, which took place on Friday, February 17th, in Room 7 of the PABEXPO Fair and Exhibition Center, as part of the celebration of the 21st Anniversary of Banco de Inversiones S.A.

The event was chaired by the Vice President of the Central Bank of Cuba, Francisco Mayobre Lence and the members of the Board of Directors of Banco de Inversiones Arminda García González, Executive President; Maricela Azcue González, Executive Vice President; Miguel Borrell Alfonso, General Director; Yoishanne Freyre Ruiz, Secretary; Claritza Nasco López, Secretary of the Core of the Cuban Communist Party and Berkis Sánchez Fundora, Secretary of the Trade Union Section. The hearing of the event was completed by the Bank's executives, employees and retirees.

Dedicated to the figure of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, the Balance constituted a necessary x-ray of the main results of the work carried out during the year 2016, starting from the achievements and dissatisfactions reached in that period. The main economic results, indicators of Human Capital, work with executives, union and party work, as well as the fulfillment of the objectives of the last year were exposed. Next to the conclusion, the main projections for the year 2017 were announced, led by the elevation of the quality of the services and the strengthening of the human resources management, among others.

As part of the work carried out last year, Bancoi witnessed great achievements reaching gradually the goals set. There was a gradual increase in income with economic results, higher than the planned and the real 2015, being able to obtain payment for efficiency and results; the Customer and Financial Products Portfolio diversified, advancing the development of services with the support of new information technologies; The Business Strategy 2016-2020 was drawn up as well as the Communication Strategy and the consequent fulfillment of its Action Plan; qualified and experienced resources were available in the sector in support of the areas, and the necessary youth was included; the corporate visual identity and the image of the prestigious Bulletin “Hoy en el Mercado” were renewed; the website was reactivated and institutional profiles were created in the main social networks. The International Certificate for the Quality System by Bureau Veritas and the Integrated Management System (IMS) by the ONN were obtained, important certifications that confirm the veracity of the Bancoi’s System and prestige it nationally and internationally. In the audit it was able to maintain the IMS certification, AUDITA rated as ACCEPTABLE the Internal Control and REASONABLE the financial economic situation and was obtained an acceptable rating in OSB In Situ Inspection, focused on the determination of the risk profile.

Coupled with all these achievements, in the Balance was recognized the need to continue working to mitigate those deficiencies that have a negative effect on the results of the work. The massive participation of the workers critically targeting core issues still to improve as the labor fluctuation and internal communication, tells the commitment to continuous improvement of the entity and the need to continue working and feedback for the full achievement of the mission and corporate purpose of Bancoi S.A.
